Public bank-code lookup API
Free exact-identifier lookups for AT (OeNB Austria) and GB (HSBC UK branches only). This is source-snapshot reference data, not account validation or a complete worldwide API.
GET https://findbankcodes.com/api/v1/bank-code?country=GB&code=40-01-25Limit: 60 requests per minute per network address. Codes must be five digits for AT or six digits for GB; UK separators are accepted. GET only. No account or personal information should be sent.
Response fields
verification separates pattern, checksum, directory match, account ownership and payment eligibility. source includes source date and coverage. attribution must be retained wherever you display the records.
A missing code can return HTTP 200 with not_found_in_snapshot. Malformed input returns 400, unsupported method 405, rate limit 429, and temporary failure 503. CORS is enabled for this public endpoint.

Embeddable lookup widget
The widget displays verification limits, provider dates and attribution. It accepts bank identifiers only.
