Vietnam bank code guide
When to use CITAD code, what to request from the bank, and how to interpret directory results.
Domestic payments
Use the CITAD/payment-office identifier required by the receiving bank and transfer service.
International payments
Ask the receiving bank for its SWIFT/BIC and currency-specific beneficiary instructions.
Important distinctions
- Some source entries use centralised ALL BRANCHES payment codes.
- A previous code is shown separately when the source supplies it; it is not substituted for the listed code.
- The saved source is a dated bank-published reference, not live account validation.
How to find and confirm the identifier
- Ask the recipient to obtain payment instructions from their bank’s official app, statement or website.
- Match the country, identifier type and institution. Keep leading zeros and do not substitute a different code type.
- For a changed bank or branch, verify the replacement instructions directly with the bank. A similar name is not enough.
Directory coverage
Cathay United Bank published CITAD reference, version December 1, 2025. Previous codes are kept separate from the listed code. Some institutions use centralised payment codes marked ALL BRANCHES; confirm the appropriate code with the receiving bank.
